Trump slammed for 'creepy' moment with Macron's wife Brigitte – 'Disgusting'

US President Donald Trump has sparked controversy after an awkward exchange with Brigitte Macron at the G7. A video has emerged showing him engaging in a “weird handshake tug of war” with her, as well as holding her hand for an unusually long time.
Commentator Aaron Rupar wrote on X: “Trump does his weird handshake tug of war with Brigitte Macron.” The accompanying footage appears to show Mr Trump maintaining a firm grip on her hand throughout their exchange.
The moment prompted a significant reaction, with many deeming the behaviour “creepy”. One person wrote: “Disgusting. Inappropriate gestures and mannerisms, too.”
Another commented: “He grabbed and shook Emmanuel’s hand quickly, but kept hers in a grip while she’s clearly uncomfortable. Then she does this quick shake movement right after he lets go that’s like she’s shaking off the disgust.”
A third questioned: “Why won’t he let go of her hand when she wants to disengage?”
Another remarked: “She looked very ready to let go about five seconds in. Everything after that is her trying to kindly and politely get him to let go.”
Separate footage shows Mr Trump holding Mrs Macron’s hand as they walk together.
This also sparked outcry from social media users, with many questioning whether it was a deliberate move in front of her husband.
One person wrote: “Holy smokes. Why is Trump holding hands with France’s first lady Brigitte Macron in front of her husband?
“Did he just need help walking down, or did he think for a minute it’s Melania? Something is terribly off with Trump.”
