Umahi hails Tinubu’s projects, dismisses opposition ahead of 2027 polls

Works Minister David Umahi says no opposition presidential hopeful can match President Bola Tinubu’s infrastructure achievements in the South-East, citing ongoing federal projects across the region.

Mr Umahi stated this during media inspection of ongoing federal government projects in Ebonyi alongside members of the Renewed Hope Media Team on Saturday.

The minister said that the region was witnessing unprecedented federal attention under the current administration.

According to him, Ebonyi will formally demonstrate its support for Tinubu on Monday when Gov. Francis Nwifuru leads stakeholders in endorsing the President for a second term.

“We are not voting for anybody else other than the President and the governor.

“None of the presidential aspirants can do what Tinubu is doing for the people of the South-East.

“All we have fought for in terms of inclusiveness, fairness and equity, we now have under the government of President Bola Tinubu,” Umahi said.

He argued that the administration has addressed long-standing concerns about inclusion and equitable distribution of federal projects.

The Ebonyi former governor also disclosed that the N25 billion Onueke Flyover in Ezza South Local Government Area was expected to be completed by December.

Earlier, the managing director of Age Link Group, Chief Enekwachi Akpa, whose company is handling the project, said construction has progressed significantly in spite of the absence of mobilisation funds.

He noted that residents of Ebonyi Central have welcomed the project which they described as a transformative infrastructure.

Also speaking, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (South-East), Mrs Chioma Nweze, described Tinubu’s administration as inclusive and development-focused.

She cited ongoing federal road projects linking Enugu, Onitsha, Owerri, Port Harcourt and Abakaliki, as well as the construction of a major flyover at Eke-Obinagu in Enugu State and the Ndibe Beach Bridge connecting Ebonyi and Cross River states.

“This is the first time the South-East has been fully included in the scheme of things. The President has shown that we are an important part of Nigeria,” Nweze said.

She urged residents of the South-East to support the President in the next election, stressing that the administration’s projects provide tangible evidence of fulfilled promises.
