US Warns Nigerian Travelers Over Visa Compliance as Immigration Rules Tighten

The United States Mission in Nigeria has urged Nigerians travelling to the United States to strictly comply with immigration regulations and honour the conditions attached to their visas, warning that any violation could negatively affect future travel opportunities.
In a statement shared on its official social media page on Monday, the Mission advised students, workers, and visitors to respect the approved duration and terms of their stay while in the country, and to ensure their travel documents remain valid throughout their visit.
“Staying compliant with U.S. immigration laws isn’t just the right thing to do it protects your future and keeps opportunities open for Nigerian travelers,” the Mission stated.
It added that compliance with immigration rules benefits both travellers and the host country, noting that adherence helps maintain trust in the visa system, and urged Nigerians to make choices that safeguard their long-term interests.
