Police detain TikToker following boyfriendâs death in Kano


Popular TikTok personality, Fati Cele, has been detained by the Kano state Police command following the death of her boyfriend, Isma’il Makaye, at her residence in Kano.
According to a report by Punch, the police confirmed that the social media personality is currently in custody while investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A source alleged that Cele raised an alarm about a fire at her residence, after which Makaye was rushed to a hospital for treatment. He later died.
Police spokesperson CSP Abdullahi Haruna confirmed the detention but declined to provide further details, citing ongoing investigations.
Makaye, a cosmetics trader based in Kano, has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
