2027: APC unveils mobilisation drive in UK, urges support for Tinubu

The All Progressives Congress has intensified its mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections, calling on Nigerians in the United Kingdom to rally behind President Bola Tinubu’s second-term bid and deepen support for the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The call was made during an APC Diaspora Mobilisation programme held in Uxbridge, London, on Wednesday, where party stakeholders, support groups and members of the Nigerian community in the United Kingdom gathered to strategise on expanding grassroots support for the ruling party.

The event was organised by the Office of the Special Adviser on Diaspora Coordination and Mobilisation to the APC National Chairman in collaboration with Women Leaders Support Advancement and the Tinubu Support Group.

The gathering drew party leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, academics and women leaders from across the Nigerian diaspora, underscoring the APC’s growing efforts to strengthen its overseas support base ahead of the next general elections.

Addressing participants, the Special Adviser on Diaspora Coordination and Mobilisation, Professor Tai Balofin, urged Nigerians living abroad to become active ambassadors of the Tinubu administration and mobilise support for the President’s re-election.

“The Nigerian diaspora remains a strategic partner in national development. I urge all Nigerians living abroad to deepen grassroots engagement and actively support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu so that the Renewed Hope Agenda can continue to deliver meaningful reforms for our country,” Balofin said in a statement he issued.

He stressed that sustained engagement by Nigerians abroad would further strengthen the party and consolidate the administration’s achievements.

A major highlight of the programme was the presentation of an Award of Honour to Balofin by the United Kingdom Coordinator of the Tinubu Support Group, Otunba Jafaar Ibraimoh, in recognition of his contributions to diaspora engagement and party mobilisation.

Responding to the honour, Balofin dedicated the award to the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda.

“This recognition belongs to our National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, whose leadership has continued to promote inclusiveness and strengthen the participation of Nigerians in the diaspora in the affairs of our great party,” he said.

Women leaders also reaffirmed their commitment to the APC and President Tinubu’s administration.

The United Kingdom Coordinator of Women Leaders Support Advancement, Kemi Kalejaiye, said Nigerian women in the diaspora were ready to play a greater role in mobilising support for the APC and contributing to national development.

“Women in the diaspora are prepared to mobilise, organise and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s development. We remain committed to supporting the APC and ensuring that the Renewed Hope Agenda succeeds for the benefit of all Nigerians,” Kalejaiye said.

Founder of Women Leaders Support Advancement, Deborah Honecker, described women as a powerful force for transformation when united across borders.

“When women come together with a shared purpose, they become a powerful force for transformation. We will continue to build bridges across borders and encourage greater participation of women in political mobilisation and nation-building,” Honecker said.
