Benue woman arrested over alleged killing of co-wife’s child
A woman identified as Erdoo Nancy from Ankyoor community in Gwer East Local Government Area of Benue State has been arrested over the alleged killing of her co-wife’s child.
According to eyewitness accounts, the incident occurred along Makurdi Road, opposite YUA Guest House in the area.
Local youths reportedly prevented the suspect from escaping and immediately handed her over to the Nigeria Police Force Division in Alide, Gwer East LGA, for further investigation.
Preliminary reports suggest that the suspect allegedly attacked and killed the young girl while the mother was away.
The motive behind the alleged killing remains unclear as investigations continue.
The identity and age of the deceased have not yet been officially released.
The spokesperson of the Benue State Police Command, DSP Udeme Edet, could not be reached to confirm the incident as at the time of filing this report.
