Celebrity Nigerian businessman Linus Williams Ifejirika, popularly known as Blord, has urged singles to wait until they are financially and emotionally prepared before considering marriage.
Speaking on a recent episode of the Adult Gist podcast, Blord frowned at the practice of some youths rushing into marriage before attaining financial stability, attributing this trend to peer pressure and societal expectations.
He urged Nigerian youths not to rush into marriage, arguing that marriage should not be viewed as an achievement.
He advised people to take their time and make a good choice of life partner, cautioning against breaking the hearts of ladies, since anyone who eventually has a daughter would not want her treated the way they treated other people’s daughters.
He urged men to treat women the way they would want their own daughters treated, and similarly urged women to treat men the way they would want their sons treated.
He reiterated that people should not be in a hurry to marry, insisting that marriage is not an achievement and that no one should be pressured into it, warning that rushing into marriage often leads to rushing out of it.
He added that age does not matter, and urged people to avoid marrying someone they would later regret, noting that reversing a marriage is extremely difficult, especially where children are involved.
