Brymo Reveals Alleged 2Baba Encounter Over Annie Idibia Question

Singer Olawale Ashimi, popularly known as Brymo, has claimed that music icon 2Baba once asked his then-wife, Annie Idibia, whether she had ever been sexually involved with him, while also admitting that he had relationships with several married women during the early years of his music career.

The singer made the revelations during a Tuesday episode of an online podcast, where he reflected on his past relationships and some of the experiences that shaped his outlook on life.

According to Brymo, his growing popularity following one of his breakthrough songs attracted the attention of several older women, some of whom were married but claimed to be separated from their husbands.

He said the experiences taught him valuable lessons, prompting him to advise younger artistes against getting involved with married women, cautioning that he had encountered a number of women who were truly still married and warning that such involvement could shorten a young artiste’s life.

He recounted one particular incident involving a married woman who invited him to perform at her sister’s wedding before later asking him to entertain guests at her family home.

He said he initially agreed, until she informed him that her husband would also be present, recalling that she referred to her husband as “our baba,” which he initially misunderstood to mean her father.

He said he felt uncomfortable with the situation, viewing it as potentially exposing himself to some form of ritual, and ultimately decided to leave.

Reflecting on that experience, Brymo said it reminded him of an encounter he claimed took place in 2019 involving 2Baba and Annie.

According to him, the incident occurred at an office in Lekki Phase 1, where 2Baba allegedly asked Annie directly whether she had ever been intimately involved with him.

Brymo said he would never forget that moment, describing himself as someone whose true nature people do not fully understand.
