CAC opens new Lagos office to boost business registration, ease access for SMEs

The Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, has expanded its service delivery network with the commissioning of a new service office at Tafawa Balewa Square, TBS, Lagos, in a move aimed at bringing business registration and regulatory services closer to entrepreneurs and strengthening support for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, MSMEs.

The new office was inaugurated on Monday by the Registrar-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, SAN, as part of the agency’s efforts to improve access to corporate services and enhance the ease of doing business in Nigeria.

According to the Commission, the establishment of the TBS office aligns with the Federal Government’s economic reform agenda under President Bola Tinubu, which seeks to formalise small businesses, expand the tax net and promote inclusive economic growth.

The CAC said the office has been strategically located in the commercial hub of Lagos to enable business owners, particularly operators of small and medium-scale enterprises, to access its services more conveniently without having to travel long distances.

The commission explained that the new facility is fully equipped to provide key corporate services, including business name registration, company incorporation, filing of annual returns and other statutory compliance requirements.

It noted that the additional office would reduce waiting time, improve service efficiency and allow entrepreneurs to complete transactions directly with the Commission in a faster and more seamless manner.

The CAC said the expansion underscores its commitment to strengthening regulatory compliance while making it easier for businesses to operate within the formal economy.

The commission added that improving access to its services would encourage more businesses to register formally, enhance corporate transparency and create greater opportunities for MSMEs to access government interventions, financial services and investment opportunities.

It reaffirmed its commitment to leveraging technology and expanding its physical presence across the country to deliver efficient, customer-focused services that support Nigeria’s economic development and improve the business environment.
