A video showing staff of Bills Micro Credit confronting a man over an alleged GH¢6,000 debt has gone viral on social media.
In the video, people believed to be staff of Bills Micro Credit are seen arguing with the man while his wife records the incident.
According to reports, the man, who works as a tailor, had taken loans from the company on 20 previous occasions and had always repaid them on time.
However, he allegedly missed two recent weekly instalments of GH¢628. The reports say the company’s agents visited his shop and attempted to lock it over the unpaid debt.
“He will pay all the money today; you watch and see,” one of the agents is heard saying in the video.
The tailor’s wife, who was recording the incident, alleged that one of the agents threatened to slap her.
She responded, saying, “Come and slap me. How much is your money?”
The tailor later alleged that the confrontation became violent and that he suffered head injuries during the incident.
He has since filed an official complaint with the police.
The man also claimed that he had taken loans from Bills Micro Credit about 20 times in the past and had always met his repayment obligations before the recent default.
The circumstances surrounding the confrontation are yet to be officially determined, and the police are expected to investigate the matter.
