Delaying prosecution Of Oyo school kidnappers shows something is wrong – Ningi warns FG

Bauchi Central Senator Abdul Ningi has warned President Bola Tinubu led Federal Government against delaying the prosecution of suspects linked to the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State.
Speaking during Senate plenary, Ningi urged security agencies to quickly parade and prosecute the suspects, saying any delay could weaken public trust in the justice system.
He said those responsible for the crime must face the full weight of the law to serve as a warning to others and prevent similar attacks in the future.
Ningi stressed that the government must act swiftly, adding that delays in handling the case could give Nigerians the impression that something is wrong.
The senator also called on the Federal Government to take stronger action over xenophobic attacks on Nigerians living in South Africa.
He urged Nigeria to consider ending diplomatic relations with South Africa, accusing the country of failing to do enough to protect Nigerians facing violent attacks.
Ningi said more than 1,200 Nigerians have already been evacuated from South Africa, while authorities have only offered warnings instead of taking stronger measures against attackers.
He argued that Nigerians deserve protection wherever they live and called for more decisive action to safeguard citizens abroad.
