‘Desperate’ Don Jr.’s ‘shameless corruption’ pursuit is doomed to fail: Analyst

President Donald Trump’s eldest son may have reached unprecedented heights of “shameless corruption and sheer moral repugnance” — but it’s in pursuit of a goal he’s unlikely to achieve, a new analysis contends.
MS NOW journalist Paul Waldman on Sunday skewered Donald Trump Jr. for what he described as a relentless pursuit of extreme wealth and revealed his surprising theory as to why.
“He has cemented his position as perhaps the most distasteful and ethically compromised presidential relative in American history,” Waldman wrote. “None who came before can hold a candle.”
To support this claim, Waldman pointed to a slew of business deals Trump Jr. has been able to pursue under lax laws that have allowed his father to make billions of dollars in the White House.
Among those ventures are World Liberty Financial — a crypto company in which a United Arab Emirates official secretly invested half a billion dollars — and 1789 Capital, which profits from companies that, as Waldman writes, “just happen to benefit from government policy.”
There’s also Kalshi and Polymarket, the gambling sites who have hired Trump Jr. as a paid adviser, Waldman noted.
Waldman then revealed the surprising reason why he believes Trump Jr. keeps pursuing excessive wealth through ethically questionable means.
“If he keeps this up,” wrote Waldman, “he’ll be able to say, ‘See Dad, I’m just as greedy and corrupt as you!’ “
There’s just one problem, Waldman concluded: Trump’s “indifferent.”
As proof, Waldman reminded readers that Trump “couldn’t even be bothered to attend his son’s wedding.”
