Healthcare workers critical to Edo’s prosperity – Okpebholo

BENIN CITY — Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has commended the resilience and sacrifices of healthcare workers across the state, describing them as critical partners in his administration’s drive to build a healthier and more prosperous Edo State.
The governor stated this during the seventh anniversary celebration of the Edo Specialist Hospital (ESH) in Benin City.
Represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Yakubu Oshiorenua Musa, Okpebholo congratulated the hospital’s management, staff and partners for their dedication, professionalism and sustained excellence in healthcare delivery over the past seven years.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening the health sector through continued support for institutions working to improve access to quality and affordable healthcare for residents.
The governor commended the hospital for its commitment to quality service, noting that it had continued to distinguish itself through excellence in patient care, innovation and professionalism.
“My administration remains committed to strengthening the health sector by supporting institutions that continue to improve access to quality and affordable healthcare for residents of the state,” he said.
“The achievements recorded by Edo Specialist Hospital over the past seven years demonstrate what can be accomplished through dedication, visionary leadership and a commitment to putting patients first.”
Okpebholo praised healthcare workers for their resilience and sacrifices, describing them as indispensable to the government’s efforts to improve health outcomes and promote the well-being of residents.
In her remarks, the Chief Medical Director of Edo Specialist Hospital, Dr Anthonia Inibokun Njoku, expressed appreciation to the Edo State Government, members of staff, patients and development partners for their support throughout the hospital’s seven-year journey.
Njoku said the hospital had continued to expand its services while maintaining high standards of clinical excellence, compassion, innovation and integrity.
She assured the public that the management remained committed to delivering world-class specialist healthcare services to residents of Edo State and beyond.
The anniversary celebration featured goodwill messages and reflections on the hospital’s achievements since its establishment in 2019, with stakeholders applauding its growing contribution to healthcare delivery in the state.
Healthcare professionals, government officials, development partners and other invited guests attended the event.
A major highlight of the celebration was the renewed commitment by the state government, hospital management, development partners and healthcare stakeholders to continue raising the standard of specialist healthcare for the benefit of Edo people.
