Dowries are meant to be only paid on and for a woman who is a virgin – Kogi governor’s aide says

The Senior Special Assistant to Kogi State Governor on Cybercrime, Promise Emmanuel aka Kogi Rebel, believes that dowries were originally designed to be paid for women who are virgins. 

According to him, dowries were paid to honor the father of the bride for raising a woman who remained ‘untouched’ until she was handed over to another man who would become her husband. 

His post, which has sparked a debate online, reads

Dowries are meant to be ONLY paid on and for a woman who is a VIRGIN.  The money is to honor her Father for raising a child that is untouched before being handed over to another man. It is in all the Holy Books and religion.

Now, many women are no longer virgins before marriage. Some have been touched and used more than Direct Toks. The reason is because of the monetization of relationships and the avarice of many women to use what their parents and caregivers cannot afford. They use their bodies in exchange of acquiring these expensive lifestyle that features expensive phones, bags, shoes, vacations even when they’re jobless and not tired from any work, living in expensive neighborhoods to belong and other things.

The ones with low mileage are few. The ones with No Mileage at all are almost non-existent.

Hence, bride price or dowry payment which also comes with orishirishi demands should be scrapped. The society should stop rewarding what is not sincere anymore. Again, many of these women are beginning to act like men and demanding for equality.

If this culture is hard to change.  I will also begin to promote that since many women are no longer virgins, Edo Baba  has said they should rather get pregnant first before marriage or commitment is given through dowry.  They have said that having children is the biggest thing a woman can ever do, since men cannot carry pregnancies. So the ones who should be honored with dowry and married should be the ones ready to have kids by willing husbands.  Think about it, the Holy Books promoted dowry payment for women who are untouched but some have gotten pregnant many times without children emerging. You know what I mean. This means the bed is no longer undefiled. Why are we then deceiving ourselves?

Those who behave like men and also do not want to have kids should never have any dowry paid on them or get commitment to marriage. Everybody should be piping and moving on. If they want the expensive things, pay for it, pipe and move on because the benefit for a man in many modern marriages now are children. The progenitors that would take after his lineage. Many women have started attacking that benefit and we would also rise to the occasion of not rewarding that movement.
