Enugu Air Aircraft Escapes Major Incident After Runway Excursion In Benin

After arriving at the Benin Airport today, Enugu Air, a state-owned airline, has stated that one of its aircraft experienced a runway excursion.

All of the passengers and crew members on board were successfully evacuated without suffering any injuries, the airline said in a statement that was posted on its official social media account.

“Enugu Air wishes to inform the public that one of our aircraft operating into Benin experienced a runway excursion after landing today,” the message said.

“We certify that there were no casualties or injuries and that every passenger and crew member exited safely.

The aircraft has since been secured, with relevant aviation authorities duly notified in line with established procedures, as an assessment of the aircraft and the circumstances surrounding the occurrence is currently underway.

The airline stated that as a result of the incident, there may be temporary adjustments to some flight schedules, assuring that passengers affected by any changes would be contacted directly and provided with the necessary assistance. It maintained that the safety of its passengers, crew and operations remains its highest priority.
