George and Amal Clooney forced to evacuate ‘beautiful’ French home due to wildfires

George and Amal Clooney have fled their home in France as wildfires in the area rage on.
The A-listers — who live with 9-year-old twins Ella and Alexander in Brignoles in southeastern France — announced they’d evacuated in a letter to mayor Didier Brémond, per a representative for the “Ocean’s Eleven” star, according to People.
“Dear Didier, At this point we have no idea whether our beautiful home makes it through this terrible moment,” they wrote.
“As we evacuate Brignoles we want to emphasise 2 things, first we hope you and the people of our city are safe and second that Amal and I are committed to making sure that whatever happens to our village, we are part of this community and we’ll be part of making it whole,” they went on, noting that they “love” the town and their “friends who live there.”
Representatives for the Clooneys did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

George, 64, and Amal, 48, keep a primary residence at their farm in France, though they also famously own homes in Lake Como, Italy; near the “O Brother, Where Art Thou” actor’s family in Kentucky; and in England.
Three thousand people in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur — where the human rights attorney and Oscar winner reside — have evacuated, according to CNN. Per the outlet, 224,000 people were also evacuated in the Gironde region of France.
The Associated Press reports that the “uncontained” fire is four times the size of Paris.
In October, the “Good Night, and Good Luck” star — who tied the knot with Amal in 2014 in Italy — gushed about the life he’d built in France with his wife, saying they were “very lucky.”
“You know, we live on a farm in France,” he told Esquire at the time.

“A good portion of my life growing up was on a farm, and as a kid, I hated the whole idea of it,” he continued. “But now, for them, it’s like — they’re not on their iPads, you know? They have dinner with grown-ups and have to take their dishes in. They have a much better life.”
Clooney also expressed concern that his twins wouldn’t “get a fair shake at life” in “the culture of Hollywood.”
“I don’t want them to be walking around worried about paparazzi,” he explained. “I don’t want them being compared to somebody else’s famous kids.”

News emerged that the couple had obtained their French citizenship in December.
In 2022, George joked that he’d “made a terrible mistake”in teaching their children multiple languages, particularly Italian — even though he and Amal don’t speak the language.
“So, we’ve armed them with a language they can harm us with,” he jokingly told “CBS Mornings” at the time. “And we both don’t really know what they’re saying.”
The twins also speak French and English.
George also joked that he’s “from Kentucky,” so “English is [his] second language.”
