Harrison Gwamnishu shares sweet new video of the woman who was tied and flogged by her kinsmen over claims she was a w!tch a few years ago

A new video of Mrs Amarachi Okechi, the woman who was tied up, publicly flogged, humiliated, and abandoned by her kinsmen in Umueghu in Amaegbuato autonomous community Nkpa Bende Local Government, Abia state in September 2022, has warmed the hearts of many on social media.
Back in 2022, a video showing youths in her community fl@gging her after tying up her hands went viral. Mrs Okechi was ass@ulted over claims made by her late husband’s brother’s wife that she is a witch. Read here.
After her story was made public, Mrs Okechi was admitted in the hospital where she was given medical attention. The wife of the Abia state governor, Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu also came to her rescue.
Harrison, who brought her plight to the public back then, shared a new video of Mrs Okechi looking very healthy, years after the traumatic experience.
He wrote
”WHO REMEMBERED THIS WIDOW?
Four years ago, Mrs. Amarachi Okechi was falsely accused of witchcraft in Abia State. She was tied up, publicly flogged, humiliated, and abandoned by her own community.
The moment I heard about her ordeal, I left Asaba for Umuahia, brought her back to Asaba, Delta State, and sought support until she was provided with a safe shelter where she could begin to rebuild her life.
In 2024, life became difficult for me. I had to call many of the people I had helped over the years and told them I could no longer carry everyone’s burden. I encouraged them to keep pushing and help themselves. Sadly, not one of them has checked on me or even asked how I was doing.
But this morning, I woke up to a video of Mrs. Amarachi praying sincerely for me. She has been the only checking and praying.
Watching that video melted my heart.
Even after I could no longer be there for her the way I once was, she still remembered me in her prayers. That simple act reminded me that genuine gratitude still exists.
You may never receive appreciation from everyone you help. Some people will forget your sacrifices the moment they overcome their challenges. But every now and then, someone will remind you that your kindness truly made a difference.
Never stop doing good. Your reward may not always come from the people you helped, but goodness is never wasted”
