IYC Worldwide Constitutes Transition Committee to Oversee Leadership Handover

The President of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, Sir Jonathan Lokpobiri Snr, has announced the constitution of a Transition Committee to oversee and coordinate the organization’s leadership transition process.
According to a statement signed by the IYC President, the committee has been mandated to ensure a seamless, transparent, and successful transition while working closely with the National Executive Council (NEC).
The committee is chaired by Hon. Alfred Kemepado, with Dr. Freedom Atigbi serving as Co-Chairman. Other members include Rt. Hon. Allen Gabriel Tomoni, Dr. Charles Ikimi, Perekosufa Ineife, Prince Iwefa Aganaba, Doubra Wuruyai, Hon. Abi Morris Bako, Johnmartins Ijere, Ms. Ebiere Keyagha, and Kalizibe Joseph, while Bright Egelu will serve as Secretary.
The statement further directed the committee to discharge its responsibilities with diligence, transparency, and unwavering commitment. It added that at its inaugural meeting, the committee is expected to establish the necessary sub-committees to facilitate the effective execution of its assignment.
The IYC leadership emphasized that the committee will maintain close liaison with the National Executive Council throughout the transition period to ensure continuity, stability, and the smooth transfer of responsibilities.
Congratulating the members on their appointment, Sir Jonathan Lokpobiri Snr expressed confidence in their capacity to deliver on the important task and wished them a successful tenure in steering the transition process.
The constitution of the committee is seen as a significant step toward ensuring an orderly leadership transition within the Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide, in line with the organization’s commitment to good governance, accountability, and institutional stability.
