Kebbi govt approves N2.11bn for gratuities, death benefits

Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris, has approved the release of ₦2.110 billion for the payment of gratuities and death benefits to state civil servants, contract staff, retirees from the Local Government Service and Local Government Education Authorities (LGEAs).
The Head of Service in the state, Malami Shakari, disclosed this in a statement signed by the Director of Administration, Rashidu Muhammad Bala, and made available to journalists in Birnin Kebbi.
According to the statement, a total of 772 beneficiaries will receive the payments, covering gratuities and death benefits for state civil servants, contract staff, as well as personnel from the Local Government Service and LGEAs, for the period between 16 September 2025 and 15 January 2026.
He added that the approval underscores Governor Idris’ commitment to improving the welfare of workers, retirees and the families of deceased public servants by ensuring the timely settlement of their entitlements.
