Kidnappers Demand N200 Million Ransom for Kebbi Judge

As security forces step up their attempts to free Justice Faruku Hassan Bunza of the Kebbi State High Court, the kidnappers have demanded a N200 million ransom.

CP Umar Muhammad Hadejia, the Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, revealed the most recent information on Monday while informing reporters in Birnin Kebbi about the continuing rescue effort.

According to the police commissioner, intelligence available to the command indicated that the @bductors had contacted the judge’s family, demanding N200 million before agreeing to release him.

Hadejia also disclosed that the kidn@ppers had reached out to a registrar of the High Court in Abuja as part of efforts to negotiate the r@nsom.

He said the command had deployed tactical and intelligence operatives, alongside other security personnel, to comb through forests and suspected escape routes believed to have been used by the @bductors.

The commissioner added that security had been reinforced through the establishment of checkpoints and intensified surveillance across strategic locations in order to prevent the k!dnappers from relocating the victim.

He expressed confidence that the ongoing operation would ultimately lead to the judge’s safe rescue and the arrest of those responsible for the @bduction.

Hadejia urged residents to remain vigilant and support security agencies with credible information that could aid the rescue effort, assuring the public that the command remained committed to securing Justice Bunza’s freedom and ensuring that the perpetrators are brought to justice.

The police commissioner further advised residents, particularly public officials and other prominent individuals, to avoid unnecessary night travel given the prevailing security challenges, noting that such movements often expose travellers to att@cks by criminal elements.
