A Nigerian woman, Eno Jossy, has responded to online critics who mocked her for marrying a Caucasian man, revealing that her bride price was paid in dollars while reflecting on the struggles that shaped her journey.
In a Facebook post shared on Friday, July 31, 2026, Eno dismissed claims that she had simply “caught a maga” by marrying a foreigner. She said those making such comments know nothing about the hardships she endured before finding happiness again.
According to her, she spent years travelling from one village market to another on motorcycles to sell locally made soap, often working with harsh chemicals and hot oils that left her with burns. Despite the difficult conditions, she remained committed to growing her business while continuing her religious activities.
Looking back on her journey, Eno said she is grateful to God for rewarding her faithfulness and perseverance.
“My bride price was paid in dollars. When I look back at how far I have come and how faithful Jehovah has been to me, I am in awe of Him,” she wrote.
She recalled enduring long hours under the scorching sun and heavy rain while trying to make ends meet, adding that she never allowed her business struggles to interfere with her worship.
Eno also revealed that she was a single mother raising two children after a failed marriage before meeting her current husband. She described her new marriage as a blessing, saying there is nothing more fulfilling than being with someone who shares her faith and values.
She concluded by urging people not to judge or mock others without understanding the battles they have fought, reminding critics that everyone’s story is different.
