The Nigerian Boxing Board of Control has, through its appointed independent investigator, formally requested information and cooperation from BoxRec as part of ongoing investigations into a petition that led to the suspension of the Board’s sanctioned schedules and fights on the international boxing records database, The PidomNigeria reports.

Dr Bob Olukoya of Fort Knight Partners, who is leading the independent probe, in a letter addressed to BoxRec chief executive officer, Dr Marina Sheppard, said he was conducting a thorough and impartial review of all aspects of the matter on behalf of the NBBofC, with the goal of establishing the facts and making recommendations to promote transparency and safeguard the integrity of Nigerian boxing records.

Olukoya, in the letter, requested a copy of the petition submitted to BoxRec by a Nigerian boxing stakeholder, Onyeka Elum, as well as copies of other correspondence and evidence relied upon by BoxRec in delisting the NBBofC.
