The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for 2026 Osun State governorship election, Alhaji Bola Oyebamiji, on Thursday donated N10 million to Igbonna Market Men and Women Cooperative Society to boost their businesses.
The candidate of the APC made the donation during an endorsement programme in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
He said that if elected, he would empower the market women with soft loans and grants.
Oyebamiji said: “Be rest assured that if elected, I will support your businesses with soft loans and grants.
“Your business and cooperative are very important for the economic growth of our state and I will not disappoint you.”
Oyebamiji, who urged the market men and women to vote for him during the August 15, 2026 election, said that he would also attract foreign investors to the state to boost economic growth of the state.
He said: “I will not deceive you.
“I will fulfill all my electioneering promises.
“Your show of love for me today will be rewarded and you will not regret voting for me.”
Oyebamiji also urged the electorate not to allow anyone to deceive them, adding that he is the best man for the job.
In his remarks, the Director-General of the APC governorship campaign council, Wole Oke, appreciated the market men and women for the large turnout.
Oke said that the party would better their lots if elected during the election.
He said that all the campaign promises of the party’s candidate would be fulfilled, adding that the party is ready to offer true governance in the state.
He added that the party would bring smiles not only in the faces of the men and women but on all the residents of the state.
The Secretary of the market, Temitope Okunoye, who spoke on behalf of the traders, said the endorsement had the backing of the market leadership led by the Babaloja General of Osun State, Chief David Iyiola.
Okunoye said: “We are here to endorse our incoming governor, Bola Oyebamiji.
“On behalf of my principal, David Iyiola, the Babaloja General of Osun, and with the support of everyone in this market, we have unanimously endorsed him.
“I urge members of this market to come out en masse and vote for Oyebamiji in the August 15 election as we have several needs in this market and our incoming governor has made commitments to address them.”
