Osun monarch backs Adeleke’s re-election bid

A frontline traditional ruler, the Ogiyan of Ejigboland, Oba Omowonunola Oyeyode Oyesosin, has thrown his weight behind Governor Ademola Adeleke‘s re-election bid, saying the people of Ejigbo will deliver overwhelming votes for him on August 15.

The Ogiyan made the declaration on Thursday during the governor’s visit to the town to commission three road projects completed by the state government.

Welcoming Governor Adeleke, the monarch said the projects sited in Ejigbo reflect the administration’s understanding of the community’s most pressing needs.

“Mr Governor, your deliveries for us met our areas of needs. My people appreciate you. On behalf of my people, I assure you of our massive votes,” Oba Oyesosin said.

The royal father went further to pray for the governor’s protection and electoral victory, telling the gathering that Ejigbo sons and daughters are solidly behind the Accord candidate.

“Ejigbo sons and daughters will vote massively for the governor’s re-election. My Governor, the good lord will protect and grant you victory. Your second term is assured by the grace of God.”

Also speaking at the event, Hon. Bamidele Salam, Accord candidate for Ede/Ejigbo/Egbedore Federal Constituency, welcomed the governor on behalf of the people.

Salam, who chairs the House of Representatives Public Accounts Committee, highlighted several health and school rehabilitation projects completed in Ejigbo in the last four years, and listed additional projects newly approved by the governor.

Governor Adeleke, in his response, thanked the monarch, chiefs, and residents for their support. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to complete the Ejigbo-Iwo road and to implement the new health and social projects announced for the area.

The governor said his government is working across all parts of Osun, with completed and ongoing projects covering every sector.

“I will not disappoint you. Our projects and programmes touch all corners of Osun and all segments of society,” he assured.

He was received by top government and party officials, including Deputy Governor Prince Kola Adewusi; Chairman of the Imole Campaign Council, Senator Lere Oyewumi; Chairperson of Imole Women Affairs, Yeyeluwa Dupe Adeleke-Sanni; Osun Central senatorial candidate, Hon. Ganiyu Olaoluwa; and members of the State Executive Council.
