PFIPC: Accountant General speaks on fund disbursement, salary payments through CBN account

The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, OAGF, has refuted allegations making the rounds on public funds disbursement and salary payment to workers of the controversial Doreign intervention promotion council, PFIPC.
The spokesperson of OAGF, Bawa Mokwa, at the weekend explained that PFIPC, led by Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, has not received any kobo from the Nigerian government, and no salaries were paid to the staff of the controversial agency.
Recall that reports emerged that PFIPC found its way into the 2026 budget with a total budget size of around N1.3 billion.
Similarly, there were speculations about alleged salary payments to workers of the purported agency.
This comes despite the presidency’s clarification that PFIPC is non-exiting and Adeyemi is a fraud.
Adeyemi had also dismissed the Presidency’s position and vowed to seek redress in court after claiming he gave the Chief of staff to President Ahmed Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, N400 million.
PFIPC has become a focus for public discourse as Nigerians and politicians alike called for a transparent probe.
In his clarification, Mokwa, stressed that there is no way PFIPC will get an account with the apex bank without authorisation from the country’s Treasury House.
According to him, there is no record of an account and payment of staff salaries payment of PFIPC.
“You cannot open an account at the CBN without authorisation from the Accountant General. The accountant general will authorise them to open an account at the CBN.
“He cannot capture even one name without those approvals because once they are captured, payment will come from the budget,” he stated.
DAILY POST reports that PFIPC has reignited the call for Gbajabiamila’s sack.
