Phone box-swapping gang nabbed and handed over to police (videos)

A woman and two men were caught allegedly after almost succeeding in their attempt to steal a phone from a shop. 
CCTV footage has been going viral since last week showing how young men keep phone boxes in their bags and head over to phone stores then request to buy a phone. 
When the store attendant gives them a phone box with a new phone to inspect, they bring out the phone box in their bag and swap it before handing over the empty phone box to the unsuspecting attendant before walking away after claiming they are no longer interested in buying. 
Many phone sellers in Abuja have been complaining of being victims. 
Now, a trio has been nabbed in Heart Plaza after they allegedly attempted using the same tactics on a vendor. 
The vendor succeeded in nabbing the group before they could escape and raised alarm. 
During questioning, the woman in the team broke down in tears. 
Other business owners in the plaza gathered to embarrass the group before handing them over to police. 
Phone shop owners across Abuja have linked the suspects to the disappearance of multiple iPhones, including iPhone 15 models, seen in earlier viral CCTV footage.
