Reps Reject PFIPC Director General Appointment Letter as Fake

The appointment letter that Adeniyi Adeyemi, who claimed to be the Director-General, received was deemed fraudulent by the House of Representatives ad hoc committee looking into the purported operations of the contested Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, or PFIPC.

Yusuf Gagdi, the committee chairman, made this statement on Wednesday while the investigation was still ongoing in Abuja.

According to Gagdi, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, who appeared for the second time on Wednesday, also confirmed that the documents presented by Adeyemi were not authentic.

Noting that the so-called letter of appointment had been established as fake by different agencies, while the Act presented to the Head of Service was equally found to have been forged by the DG.

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation appeared before the committee in compliance with its summons, following her earlier invitation to make her final statements.

Also present were Deputy Commissioner of Police Olufemi Akinola and Assistant Commissioner of Police Bashir Abdullahi, representing the Inspector-General of Police.

At the time of filing this report, Adeyemi had yet to appear before the committee.

It will be recalled that the committee had on Monday described the establishment and operation of the purported council as a serious breach, directing the Inspector-General of Police to produce Mr Adeniyi Adeyemi within 48 hours.
