Sarr and Saibari Make FIFA History With Three-Game World Cup Scoring Feat

Only two African players in history have scored in three successive FIFA World Cup matches, according to a revelation by FIFA.

The governing body named Senegal’s Ismaïla Sarr and Morocco’s Ismael Saibari as the two players who have achieved the feat.

Sarr became the latest player to reach this milestone after scoring in Senegal’s 3-2 Round of 32 defeat to Belgium last night.

Before that game, the 28-year-old Crystal Palace forward had found the net against Iraq and also scored a brace against Norway.

Saibari, for his part, scored against Haiti, Scotland and Brazil.

The 25-year-old failed to score against the Netherlands during 120 minutes of play, but converted the final penalty shootout kick to send Morocco through to the World Cup Round of 16, where they will face Canada.
