Seven killed, 24 injured in Ukrainian drone strike on Russian logistics centre

At least seven people have been killed and 24 others injured following a Ukrainian drone attack on a logistics facility in western Russia, Russian authorities said on Saturday.
According to officials, the strike targeted a Wildberries logistics centre in the town of Kotovsk, located in Russia’s Tambov region.
Tambov Regional Governor Evgeny Pervyshov said the victims were employees working the night shift when the unmanned aerial vehicles struck the facility.
“Seven night-shift employees were killed when enemy UAVs hit a Wildberries logistics centre,” Pervyshov said, adding that 24 other workers sustained injuries in the attack.
Wildberries, one of Russia’s largest e-commerce companies, confirmed that two of its logistics complexes, located in Kotovsk and Elektrostal in the Moscow region, were targeted during the overnight strikes.
The company said a fire triggered by the attack at the Tambov warehouse had been brought under control, while emergency responders continued operations at the Elektrostal facility.
The incident occurred as Russia’s capital, Moscow, experienced another wave of overnight drone attacks.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said more than 370 drones were launched toward the Moscow region, noting that air defence systems intercepted the majority before they could reach their intended targets.
“Most were neutralised by air defence forces at distant approaches. Sixty-four enemy UAVs were destroyed on approach to Moscow,” Sobyanin said.
