South African actor Seputla Sebogodi has passed away at the age of 65 after suffering complications related to diabetes.
His family confirmed his death in a statement and asked the public to respect their privacy during the difficult period.
“His legacy will live on through his remarkable body of work and the many lives he touched,” the Sebogodi family said.
Sebogodi was one of South Africa’s respected actors, known for his performances in several popular television productions.
He appeared in shows including Generations, Suburban Bliss, Bophelo ke Semphego, Redemption and Scandal.
Beyond television, he also had a successful theatre career, featuring in productions such as Big Dada, Waiting for Godot, The Rivonia Trial, Once a Pirate and Mooi Street Moves.
Following news of his passing, several people in the entertainment industry paid tribute to him, describing him as an important figure who contributed greatly to South African film and theatre.
