Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has warmed hearts after opening up about her marriage to fellow actor Kolawole Ajeyemi, describing him as the best thing to have happened to her.
Speaking during a recent appearance on an online interview, the actress said her husband never tried to force change on her but instead gave her the freedom to make better choices on her own, including quitting cigarettes after she became pregnant.
She said her husband has always let her be herself, adding that although she used to smoke cigarettes, she has since stopped, occasionally vaping instead.
She explained that when she became pregnant, her husband reminded her that continuing to smoke was no longer an option because of the baby.
She recalled that after giving birth, she once smoked in his presence, and rather than reprimand her, he offered a calm but firm warning that changed her outlook entirely.
According to her, he told her he wasn’t stopping her from smoking or drinking, but made clear that the day he saw such habits in the hands of their child would mark the end of their marriage.
Toyin Abraham and Kolawole Ajeyemi married in a private ceremony in 2019 and welcomed their son, Iremide, later that year.
Her revelation has since drawn admiration from fans online, with many commending the actor’s calm approach to encouraging positive change and holding the couple up as an example of understanding and mutual respect in marriage.
