Troops rescue more kidnapped persons in Borno

Headquarters, Joint Task Force, North East, Operation HADIN KAI, OPHK, has announced that troops have recorded another significant breakthrough in the ongoing Search and Rescue operation to recover the abducted students of Government Day Secondary School, Lassa.
A statement issued by Captain Mohammed Goni, the Acting Military Information Officer at the Headquarters of the Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI, indicated that the rescue was achieved through sustained air and ground operations, bolstered by reliable intelligence. Troops successfully rescued six additional individuals, consisting of four adults and two infants, in Talakawa, located within the Chibok Local Government Area.
The statement noted that these victims were initially abducted in Mussa, Askira/Uba LGA, in May and have now been safely rescued and transported to a secure location where they are undergoing thorough medical evaluations and receiving necessary care.
The statement added that Operation HADIN KAI has provided immediate relief supplies and essential items to mitigate the impact of their traumatic experience, while also facilitating their safe reunification with their families.
“This recent achievement underscores the effectiveness of the coordinated Search and Rescue operations conducted by Operation HADIN KAI and reaffirms the steadfast commitment of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, the Borno State Government, security agencies, and auxiliary forces to the safe recovery of all abducted individuals,” the statement emphasized.
It also mentioned that troops are actively pursuing the fleeing terrorists, applying relentless pressure along their escape routes to restrict their operational freedom.
“In the course of pursuing the terrorists’ withdrawal path, troops recovered 50 rounds of PKT ammunition left behind by the insurgents, further demonstrating the success of the ongoing offensive and the chaotic nature of the terrorists’ retreat under significant military pressure,” it added.
