Unidentified gunmen kill Benue university lecturer at residence
A lecturer in the Department of History at Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi (MOAUM), Prof Gabriel Nyityo, was reportedly killed by unidentified gunmen in the early hours of Wednesday at his residence in Makurdi.
Reports indicate that the assailants attacked the professor while he was asleep.
However, details surrounding the incident, including the motive behind the attack and whether any arrests have been made, remain unknown.
The reported killing has sparked grief and concern among members of the university community and residents of Makurdi, with many calling for a thorough investigation and improved security.
Efforts to confirm the incident from the spokesperson for the Benue State Police Command and the university management were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
