US vs Iran: We’ll respond with action – Araghchi replies Trump’s ‘scum’ remarks

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that his country will respond to the ‘scum’ remarks of the United States President, Donald Trump, with action.
In a post on X on Wednesday, Araghchi said Iran does not respond to ‘vulgarity with vulgarity’, but fearlessly with great valour.
This came after Trump’s remarks about Iranian leaders, describing them as ‘scum’ on Tuesday evening and again on Wednesday.
Similarly, Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said the US has challenged a clause in the Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, between the two countries.
According to him, the MoU emphasized the Islamic Republic of Iran’s responsibility in determining arrangements for the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
He further stated that the MoU was not established on the basis of trust, but rather on the clear mechanism of commitment for commitment.
Baqaei noted that Iran would steadfastly pursue the protection of its national interests and the exercise of its sovereignty
