The organizers of South African singer Tyla’s scheduled concert in Lagos have been asked by social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, better known online as VeryDarkMan, to immediately stop the performance.

In a video shared on social media on Thursday, VDM, who bemoaned persistent racist attacks against Nigerians in South Africa, announced that the concert will not go place.

He claimed that the South African singer would not be permitted to make money off of Nigerians, whom some South Africans have long hated.

He said there would be no Tyla concert in Nigeria, warning the organisers and show promoters bringing the singer to the country that the show was not happening.

He questioned why the concert should proceed while Chidinma Adetshina battles deportation in a South African court, arguing that Tyla should not be allowed to sell tickets and make money off Nigerians, the same people he said South Africans hate so much.

He warned that if the organisers went ahead with the show, they would storm the venue and bring it down.

An online news platform reports that several Nigerians have called for a total boycott of the concert in retaliation for the att@cks on Nigerians in South Africa.

This comes on the heels of Tyla’s management releasing her world tour schedule, which includes a performance in Lagos on December 22, 2026.
