Wellspring varsity gets NUC approval for five health courses

Wellspring University, Benin, Edo State, has secured the approval of the National Universities Commission for five undergraduate programmes.
The newly approved programmes are Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, and B.Sc. Human Anatomy, B.Sc. Human Physiology, Bachelor of Health Information Management and Bachelor of Community Health Science.
The university’s management conveyed the NUC’s approval of the programmes in a statement made available to The PidomNigeria on Tuesday.
It stated that the approved programmes would commence in the 2026/2027 academic session.
The statement read, “Wellspring University has reached another significant milestone with the approval of five new undergraduate health programmes by the National Universities Commission, following a successful resource verification exercise conducted by a panel of experts from the commission.
“This approval reinforces the university’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation and national development. It also advances the university’s strategic expansion in the health sciences while reflecting the National Universities Commission’s confidence in its academic resources, infrastructure, governance and capacity to deliver quality university education in line with national standards.”
The statement added that the new programmes would strengthen the university’s capacity to train competent healthcare professionals who would enhance the nation’s healthcare delivery and socio-economic development.
“Prospective candidates seeking admission into any of the approved programmes are encouraged to contact the university’s admissions office or visit its official communication channels for information on admission requirements and application procedures for the 2026/2027 academic session,” the statement added.
