Women 'kidnapped and gang-raped' after travelling to Pakistan to meet investors

Two women were allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped after travelling to Pakistan to meet “investors”. The women journeyed from the Netherlands to the South Asian country after one was reportedly offered networking opportunities by the grandson of a politician.

They were collected by the grandson, who is alleged to have arranged their visas. After three days in Islamabad, the women were invited to a birthday party but taken to a house in Lahore where they were allegedly raped, beaten and threatened with death.

Four men have been arrested over the alleged sexual offences on June 29.

Dutch newspaper, De Telegraaf, reports that the men allegedly demanded £1.12million ($1.5m) in ransom, threatening to sell the women’s organs.

One of the women alleged that after hitting her for several minutes, the men demanded money.

She said: “I said I had no money, but he insisted, otherwise he would kill me.”

The men allegedly used the woman’s mobile phone to send £12,700 ($17,000) to a crypto wallet, Dutch media reports.

Later, the women were reportedly told by the men that the family had paid enough ransom, and they would be driven to an airport.

De Telegraaf reports that during the journey, the politician’s grandson hit the car in front, and the woman took the opportunity to jump out.

They ran screaming into a garage and were found by a traffic officer. Police were called and are investigating the allegations.

A spokeswoman for the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it was aware of the case adding: “We are providing consular assistance.

“Due to privacy, the ministry cannot comment further on individual cases.”
