2027: Wike, Fubara, Chinda meet in Rivers

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara met with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, at his Port Harcourt residence on Sunday, August 30.
The meeting was disclosed in a social media update by the Minister’s media aide, Lere Olayinka.
According to Olayinka, Governor Fubara, accompanied by elder statesman Dr. Sam Sam Jaja, was received upon arrival by Kingsley Chinda, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Rivers State.
Former APC governorship aspirant Senator Magnus Abe was also present at Wike’s residence during the visit.
The high-level political meeting follows Fubara’s reconciliation with Wike in May 2026, when the governor stepped down from the governorship race to clear the path for the Minister’s preferred candidate.
During that period, the governor urged his political supporters across the state to vote for APC candidates in both the governorship and presidential elections.
