Accord factional chair backs Oyebamiji ahead of Osun governorship poll

The factional National Chairman of the Accord Party, Prof. Chris Imumolen, has thrown his weight behind the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO.
Imumolen announced his support for Oyebamiji on Thursday at the APC mega rally held ahead of Saturday’s governorship election in the state.
The endorsement marks a shift from his earlier position on the contest, as he had previously expressed confidence that Governor Ademola Adeleke would be defeated at the polls, arguing that the governor lacked what it would take to secure victory.
At the rally, the Accord factional chairman pledged to mobilise the party’s structures in Osun State for the APC candidate and directed members of the party across the state to cast their ballots for Oyebamiji on August 15.
He also endorsed President Bola Tinubu, describing the President as a leader with the resilience and courage required to steer the country through its political and economic difficulties.

According to Imumolen, Tinubu’s leadership has demonstrated an ability to confront Nigeria’s complex challenges without allowing ethnic or religious considerations to determine his decisions.
He said the President had shown the capacity to provide leadership across the country’s diverse political and social landscape.
The endorsement is expected to add another layer to the final stretch of campaigns by the APC as political parties intensify mobilisation ahead of Saturday’s election.
