Ariana Grande has criticised US President Donald Trump’s team for using her song in a video containing an anti-trans message.
The video was posted on the official Team Trump TikTok account on Thursday, August 20.
It showed Trump walking towards the stage at a political rally while Grande’s 2024 song “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)” played in the background.
Text placed over the video read: “Me and my truth we sit in silence… men can’t have babies and should never compete in women’s sports.”
Grande was tagged in the post’s caption and quickly responded in the comments.
“Never use my music again. Also, your truth is false.”
The song was later removed from the video.
This was not the first time Grande had objected to the Trump administration using her music.
In June, the White House used her song “Bye” in a TikTok video showing Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arresting people.
The video carried the caption: “Bye-bye. President Trump has delivered the most secure border in history.”
Grande responded: “Please do not ever use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense. F*** ICE.”
The audio was also removed from that video after her complaint.
