A Nigerian farmer has taken to social media to express her disappointment after a man who allegedly pleaded for a job reportedly blocked her after receiving ₦5,000 she sent him for transportation.
In a post shared online, the farmer recounted how the man repeatedly appealed for employment, explaining that he needed a source of income to provide for his wife and children.
According to her, the man admitted he could neither drive a car nor ride a motorcycle but insisted he was willing to do any available work.
Touched by his situation, the farmer said she offered him a job on her farm with a monthly salary of ₦70,000, as well as free accommodation and meals.
She also requested that he send his National Identification Number (NIN) and instructed him to report for work on the agreed date.
The farmer said the man later informed her that he lacked transport fare to travel to the farm.
Sympathising with him, she transferred ₦5,000 to cover his transportation costs and asked him to help purchase a few items on his way.
However, she alleged that shortly after receiving the money, the man blocked her on all communication channels and deleted the NIN he had previously shared.
“The man blocked me immediately after receiving the money and deleted his NIN, not knowing I had already saved it,” she wrote.
Her story has since gone viral, with many social media users reacting to the incident and sharing similar experiences involving job scams and financial deception.
