Soldiers from Sector 2 of Operation FANSAN YAMMA stopped a kidn@pping attempt and freed 14 people in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State on August 26.
Acting on intelligence about criminal activity around Magazu village, troops moved into the area and came across armed men who were trying to seize civilians, including drivers on the road.
The soldiers confronted the attackers, who abandoned their vehicle and ran into the bush.
During the search that followed, the troops located and rescued all 14 abducted persons.
One of them had been shot and was taken to the General Hospital in Tsafe for treatment. None of the soldiers were hurt.
The military said the operation shows Operation FANSAN YAMMA’s ongoing push to keep people safe across Zamfara State and stop criminals from moving freely through the region.
