A 44-year-old Ghanaian man has been remanded in police custody over allegations that he sexually abused his four daughters.

The suspect, Emmanuel Ekumfi, is accused of committing the alleged acts at Gomoa Dominase in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.

The children’s mother, Antoinette Boakye, said her husband sent her away from their matrimonial home after they had a misunderstanding.

She later noticed worrying symptoms in her eldest daughter and questioned her. The girl allegedly revealed that her father had sexually abused her. She also claimed that her three younger sisters had suffered similar abuse.

The matter was reported to the Kasoa Millennium City Police. Officers arrested the suspect and brought him before the Kasoa Ofaakor Court.

The court remanded him in police custody and ordered him to return on September 15, 2026.

Reports give different ages for the children. Court coverage describes them as minors but does not provide one consistent set of ages.

Their mother is now calling for a faster court process. She also wants the children to receive protection, medical care and counselling.

She said travelling from Kumasi to Kasoa for the court proceedings has placed her under financial pressure.

The claims involving anointing oil appeared in social media posts but were not included in the court reports reviewed by Ibynews.com.

The allegations have not been proven in court. The accused remains innocent unless the court finds him guilty.
