Police arrest fake medical doctor in Niger State


The Niger State Police Command has arrested a 35-year-old man for allegedly impersonating a medial doctor in Kotangora.
The spokesperson for the command, SP Wasiu Abiodun disclosed this in a statement on August 25, 2026.
According to the PPRO, the suspect identified as Aminu Yusuf confessed to have placed injections on women after collecting N30,000 each from them.
“On 24th August 2026 at about 4.30pm, based on credible information received, one Aminu Yusuf 35yrs of Unguwan-Tukura Kotangora who presented himself in the community as a medical doctor was arrested,” the statement read.
“In the course of investigation, he confessed to having administered medications for different persons, placed injections on a lady and other women where he collected thirty thousand naira each from them, without any medical background or medical documents.
“The suspect is also under further investigation and he will be charged to court for prosecution.”
