Suspect arrested for st@bbing 25-year-old man to d3ath in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested one Abubakar Abdullahi for allegedly st@bbing a 25-year-old man to d3ath in Bayan Bata area of Bauchi metropolis. 

The spokesperson for the command, SP Nafiu Habib, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, August 23, 2026. 

According to the PPRO, the incident occurred about on Saturday, August 22, following a fight between the suspect and the deceased, Moh’d Musa. 

Habib said during the altercation, the suspect allegedly brought out a knife and st@bbed Musa. 

“The Bauchi State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that on 22nd August, 2026 at about 2300hrs, a report of culpable homicide was received from Bayan Bata area of Bauchi metropolis,” the statement read.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that a fight ensued between one Abubakar Abdullahi aka “DAN IYA” and Moh’d Musa, male, 25-years-old. During the altercation, the suspect allegedly brought out a knife and st@bbed the said Moh’d Musa.  

“The victim was immediately rushed to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) Bauchi, where he was confirmed d3ad by the doctor on duty.  

“The Command’s operatives attached to ‘A’ Division Township swiftly responded, arrested the suspect, and recovered the knife used as exhibit in the commission of the crime. The corpse has been deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy.  

“The suspect is currently in custody and investigation is ongoing. The case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for discreet investigation and possible prosecution.  

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, mni, psc (+), has directed a thorough and diligent investigation to ensure justice is served. 

“He further urged members of the public to shun violence and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.”
