As a feminist, I’m highly disappointed – Gender activist criticises Nigerian woman for kneeling to accept engagement ring from her man

A gender activist, Magdalene Adamu Musa has expressed her disappointment with the Taraba lady who knelt to accept an engagement ring from her man.

Reacting to a photo from the proposal, Magdalene said the lady’s action smacks of desperation, adding that the man is supposed to kneel to give her the ring. 

While admitting she is in a healthy relationship, Magdalene, however said she would rather the engagement ends than for her to kneel to accept a ring. 

According to her marriage is not an achievement. 

“This is not okay!!! Highly disappointed! The husband is supposed to kneel. This image sends a very bad message, like she’s desperate or something!! Omo I can’t ! I’m a feminist and I’m triggered. Make the engagement scatter kawai than for me to kneel oo. Kuyi hakuri,” she wrote.
