Taraba swears in two commissioners, carries out minor cabinet reshuffle

Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, on Tuesday swore in two commissioners and approved their deployment as part of a minor cabinet reshuffle in the state.

The new commissioners, Emmanuel Hassan and Fatima Habib, took their oath of office at the Executive Council Chamber, TY Danjuma House, Jalingo.

Speaking during the ceremony, Kefas said the appointments were in line with his administration’s commitment to improved service delivery.

“This administration remains focused on delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Taraba State. The appointments and postings are part of efforts to strengthen governance and reposition key sectors,” he said.

He charged the appointees to justify the confidence reposed in them.

“You have been entrusted with significant responsibilities. I expect you to bring dedication, integrity and hard work to your duties in order to move the state forward,” the governor added.

Shortly after the swearing-in, the governor approved their portfolios, assigning Emmanuel Hassan to the Ministry of Rural and Urban Development, while Fatima Habib was posted to the Ministry of Nursery and Primary Education.

Kefas also confirmed the posting of Augustina Godwin to the Ministry of Secondary, Technical and Vocational Education.

In a statement, the Secretary to the Government of the State, Gebon Kataps, directed Permanent Secretaries in the affected ministries to ensure a smooth transition.

“The Permanent Secretaries in the affected ministries are to ensure smooth transition and continuity in service delivery,” the statement read.
