NAF airstrikes destroy terrorist camps in Borno

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has destroyed terrorist hideouts in the Southern Tumbuns area of Borno State during a targeted air operation.

The strike was carried out on Friday evening at Ali Sheriffti, a known insurgent base, following credible intelligence on militant movements, according to the Air Force.

This is contained in a statement by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the director of public relations and information, NAF on Saturday in Abuja.

Ejodame said surveillance operations tracked suspected terrorists moving through concealed paths before locating their hideouts under dense vegetation.

“Following positive identification, the NAF executed a precise strike, engaging the structures with onboard munitions,” he said.

He added that the operation successfully destroyed the camps, weakening the terrorists’ operational strength and limiting their movement in the area.

The Air Force said the mission reflects its ongoing intelligence-driven strategy aimed at eliminating insurgent safe havens.

Air Marshal Sunday, chief of air staff reiterated the force’s commitment to sustained operations against terrorist groups across the country.

He said the air force will continue offensive operations to ensure national security and protect citizens.
