Nasarawa senator meets Tinubu after emerging as APC consensus guber candidate

Senator Aliyu Wadada representing Nasarawa West, has met with President Bola Tinubu after emerging as the All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus governorship candidate in the state.

Wadada was presented to the president at the presidential villa in Abuja by Governor Abdullahi Sule.

He wrote on social media: “I was formally presented to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, by His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, today.

“This significant moment reflects not only the confidence reposed in me by my Governor and leader, but also a shared commitment to strengthening collaboration between Nasarawa State and the Federal Government.

“Our engagement was marked by productive discussions centered on deepening development efforts, advancing good governance, and delivering tangible dividends of democracy to our people.


“I remain deeply grateful for the trust and support, and I am resolute in my dedication to serving the people of Nasarawa State with integrity, loyalty, and a clear vision for progress.”

The development follows Sule’s earlier endorsement of Wadada as his preferred successor ahead of the 2027 elections.

Sule had announced the decision on Thursday during a meeting with political appointees at the government house in Lafia.

He said the choice was the result of extensive consultations with stakeholders within and outside the state.

His words: “After exhaustive consultations, the field was eventually narrowed to three aspirants, each of whom was considered capable of winning.

“Further consultations were conducted before a final decision was reached in favour of Senator Wadada. We had to look for people who have the capacity to win this election.”
