Sanwo-Olu Appoints Seven New Permanent Secretaries

The Lagos State Government has approved the appointment of seven new Permanent Secretaries to strengthen the state’s public service and improve how policies are carried out.

Naija News reports that the decision was approved by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and communicated through an official circular from the Office of the Head of Service.

The circular was sent to key government officials, including the Deputy Governor, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, the Chief Judge, commissioners, and heads of agencies. It explained that the appointments are part of steps to improve the efficiency of the state’s administrative system.

Those appointed include Dr Babajide Olumuyiwa Martins, Engr. Adetunji Adeyemi Adesanya, Mrs Bukonla Olusola Durodola, Oluwatoyin Olubunmi Oladeji, Mr Tiwalade Adeyinka Sorungbe, Architect Bolanle Monica Olukareh, and Dr Adenike Oluwafunmilayo Oluwo. All of them previously worked as Directors across different ministries and agencies within the state.

Before their promotion, the officials were on Grade Level 17 and had handled responsibilities in sectors such as urban development, local government affairs, science and technology, works, justice, and social development.

Their new roles come after years of service in these areas.

The Head of Service, Bode Agoro, signed the circular and stated that the appointments will take effect from April 24, 2026. He also noted that details of their postings will be announced later and asked relevant offices to make the information widely known.
